what i think this quote means is that it is way better to lose proud and knowing you did try your best at it than rather wining like a cheat using drugs or hurting something or someone. i think if you cheat that is bad but know one can stop you from doing it i think you may not caught the first time doing it or the second time but one day you will caught doing it and you will pay a really big piece of doing such a thing. i think just try your best a everything and make cheating your last option.
