this quote means that begin smart is not the only thing it is the way you act also because if you know that your are a really nice person and you are always there for them they will know that they can trust you to do  because they know you will do what is right. but if you are smart and you are rude then no one would want to be around you because they think that you are always think you are better than others and when you actually do need help no one is going to be there to help you out. so it is better not just to be smart but also to be a nice person. because if you are not a good person no one is ever going to like you.
