what i think this qoute means is that it is better to be by youself than to be hanging around people who can get you in trouble. because you can damage yourself  in many ways if you hang around bad people for example your reputation like when you are around people they may not want to be around you because they know you may get them in trouble. you can hurt yourself physaclly because you must be doing something dangerous and you get hurt. always try hanging out with the right people because they arfe going to try to do the right thing all thje time for example if you hang around the right kids they are not going to try to do drugs they are going to ledarn but if you hang around the wrong kids they are going to steal do drugs then you can go to jail with tosev kuids
