what i  think this quote is suppose to mean is that if you are doing something that is wrong then you should know that  you can really get anything our of it because you are just getting into to trouble then you will see that you have done something that is wrong you are going to ask for a second chance but it will be too late to have to get back that chance and you will just spend some or all of your life in that jail and think of all the regrets you have in life. So it is always better to do was is right because there you gained something and that is to know that doing the right thing will never get you into trouble.
